One person is in custody after shots were fired outside a Vestavia Hills movie theater early Monday.
Police were dispatched about 1 a.m. to the area of the AMC theater on Kentucky Avenue on a call of shots fired, said Capt. Shane Ware.
Officers quickly arrived on scene and took a suspect into custody.
Ware said the preliminary investigation indicates the shots were fired during a domestic dispute. The last movie had ended and people were leaving when the shots were fired.
No one was injured and no property damage reported.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, remains in the Vestavia Hills City Jail pending formal charges.
