A judge moved to hold Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner in “indirect criminal contempt” after she failed to show up at a trial and a hearing in an armed robbery case, KSDK reported Thursday.
Gardner’s office “appears to be a rudderless ship of chaos,” Judge Michael Noble said, noting there was sufficient evidence to support a finding of indirect criminal contempt for both Gardner and Assistant Circuit Attorney Chris Desilets.
A special prosecutor will be appointed to oversee the contempt case against Gardner and Desilets, Fox News Digital reported.
“It appears that Ms. Gardner has complete indifference and a conscious disregard for the judicial process,” Noble said, addressing repeated failures of her office to show up at hearings.
